WHAT IS MUSHAC?
MUSHAC SHORT HISTORY
MUSHAC-Moshi university students HIV/AIDS club was established since December 1st 2007 at Moshi university college of cooperative and business studies (MUCCOBS),
 formation of these club was become into the true image after unification of some students who intended to make effective coordination, advocacy resources mobilization monitoring and the process of right information to the public within and outside the university college.MUSHAC is struggling to reduce the spread of HIV in the country, reduce HIV transmission in the population through provision of education
OUR VISSION
That all university students to become competent in all issues concerning with HIV/AIDS as well as assisting the effects made by the government and international community towards prevention of transmission of HIV/AIDS in the society
OUR MISSION
“MUSHAC”will be able to produce a number of students who are skilled enough and can assist provision of education and training to the society especially in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. This will enable the government to easily success policy towards alleviation of these contingences
OUR BELIEF
Intellectuals should be in the front line fighting against transmission of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania



MUSHAC OBJECTIVES
.To cooperate with networks, CBOs and NGOs on matter of HIV/AIDS on behalf of the community
.To initiate training program me that will help sharpen minds of members on matters concerning with transmissions of HIV/AIDS
.To provide technical education and entrepreneurship skills to the vulnerable communities so that they can manage income generating activities for poverty alleviation and sustainable development to HIV/AIDS affected communities
.To organize seminars, workshops, festivals, study tours, visit exchange programmes, conferecences and the like in order to facilitate the exchange of information on community based healthy aiming at sustaining their community based development
.To organize conferences for university students by introducing concepts like football matches, netball, dialogue/debate for the purpose of brainstorming
.To enable students to provide education about HIV/AIDS to the society for instance home based care skills, counseling services, testing for HIV/AIDS, life skills and reproductive health
.To deepen public awareness of issues relating to HIV/AIDS infections
.To conduct researches concerning with HIV/AIDS within and outside the university
.To enhance capacity building to partners or members of MUSHAC which support the society involved on MUSHAC program me
.To raise awareness on lobbying and advocacy of basic human rights by identifying and advise for review laws discriminating the victims and vulnerable people in the community so that they can regain their dignity as human being and live a happily life in their communities

Is consisting of all founding members and permanent members who will be recognized their involvement in MUSHAC meeting and different program me prepared and approved by executive committee.
B) Associate members
Including all people in the community benefiting from MUSHAC and having specific contribution to the organization




MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
In order to be recognized as an appropriate member you need to the following
.To purchase the registration form which have an official seal
.To pay entrance fees which are 5000 TSH non refundable
.To pays subscription fees which are 3000 per semester
OBLIGATION OF THE MEMBERS
.To attend respective constitutional meetings
.To participate fully in the organizational activities
.To participates and enjoys all services that will be provided by the organization
.To advice the executive committee on how to improve the organization
.To support the organization either in kind or financial

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THAT HAVE BEEN ATTAINED
1.     Promotion and advertisement of our club within the college, outside the college and even beyond the borders of our country.
2.     Fundraising for the club to increase its amount of capital; the club has been able to raise 6,890,000/= Tshs. Through member’s contribution and other sources.
3.     Conducted a big HIV/AIDS festival on 15/05/2010 which was attended by students and delegates from more than six universities in the Northern zone, also some local artists.(Chege, Dully Sykes, Mr. Blue).
4.     MUSHAC has succeeded for the first time to participate in the Candle Lighting  event which was done on 15th May 2011, as a sign of commemorating the deaths of our relatives and friends who have passed away with HIV/AIDS.
5.     Increasing the number of active members from 45 in 2009 up to 201 in 2011; the increase equals 77.6%
6.     MUSHAC has been able to be in partnership with an international organization known as SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL CHANGE (S.I.C), all the members of MUSHAC will automatically be members of S.I.C and will benefit from the fruits of this partnership.
7.     Conducted different workshops concerning HIV/AIDS for example on 6th June 2010 we conducted a workshop on HIV/AIDS in the following topics: Life Skills, Reproductive Health, Home Based Care in which more than 72 members attended and benefited.
8.     We have succeeded in getting a permanent place whereby registration forms for MUSHAC will be obtained which is stationery number 24.
9.     On 15th May 2010, we succeeded to conduct Voluntary Counseling and Testing (V.C.T) at our college; we thank KIWAKKUKI for their readiness and voluntarism in making the process successful.
10.                        We have succeeded to join with the MENTORING PROGRAMME run by Mkombozi Children Centre. The programme aim at developing skills of taking care of vulnerable children so that they can attain their dreams.       (For both HIV+ and non-infected children). We thank Mkombozi for making the trainings successful.

NOTE: It is not true that in order to become a MUSHAC member you must have HIV test, MUSHAC is there to educate the society about the impact of HIV/AIDS and how the intellectuals can play the great rule towards eliminating this disaster
